Markus Stieglbauer, Global Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at Liebherr Africa, says the S1 Vision was designed to future-proof mining operations, improving safety while reducing costs. “This vehicle is fully electronically driven and ready for autonomous operation, and by removing the driver’s seat and one axle, we’ve reduced the cost of the vehicle in the manufacturing process.”
The S1 Vision boasts a 30% lower total cost of ownership compared to conventional mining trucks, thanks to simplified manufacturing and lower operating and maintenance requirements. Its compact design makes it perfect for underground mining, where space is limited, and its electric drivetrain reduces emissions and energy costs.
